Second Level (Beginner)

Lessons covered:
- Demonstrative pronouns.
- Pronouns indicating the difference between masculine and feminine singular.
- Pronouns indicating the difference between the singular and the inanimate plural.
- pronouns indicating the difference between near and far.
- (Where?) to ask about place. Recognizing position through visual aids (Up, under, in front of, behind, Right, left, in, on ...).
- Adjectives: Big/Small, tall/Short, Little/much, near/far, Fast/ Slow, Light/Heavy, Fat thin).
- Colors: red, yellow, green, blue,
- Geometric shapes: (square, triangle, rectangle, circle ...)
- Numbers: (one, two ... ten hundred ... a hundred thousand)
- Days of the week: Saturday Sunday...
- Verbs (Present tense: drinking, sitting, eating, sleeping, reading...
- Time: what time is it?
- Social introduction.
- Nationality.
- My house.
- My family.
- The human body.

This level aims to:
- Reinforcing linguistic fundamentals covered in the introductory level, develop the student’s recognition and understanding of simple vocabulary enabling him/her to decipher the meaning of words not only identifying them as in the introductory level.

Target students:
- Students with knowledge of the Arabic alphabet and some basic vocabulary.

Curriculum:
- Students at this level will gradually ascend from identifying words to forming simple sentences (verb and subject or subject and singular predicate). Sentences at this level express direct facts without the use of allegory or figuration
- Nominative case of singular and dual, regular/irregular plurals as well as studying demonstrative pronouns and few adverbs.
- Students will be able to identify past and present tense verbs and distinguish between nouns and verbs as well as denotations of the present tense verb (present /future and near/far).
- Studying first, second and third person pronouns both singular and plural cases.
- Studying the descriptive adjective in nationality lesson.

At the end of this level, the student is expected to:
- Increase his/her diversified vocabulary and understanding its meanings in addition to being able to distinguish between words similar or close in pronunciation or font but different in meaning. Also, to identify words close in meaning and different in font.
- Reading, writing, analyzing, re-constructing and using simple sentences and being able to distinguish between pronouns and nouns. Understating tense is only by associated with verbs not nouns.
